The Chaîne de l’Espoir Luxembourg has set itself the goal of helping sick children who do not have access to specialised health care, particularl surgery, in their home countries. In concrete terms, it organises surgical and training missions in developing countries and takes care in Luxembourg of children who cannot be treated in their country of origin.

Majany supported little Gallo, a four-year-old Senegalese boy. As a result of an animal bite, Gallo suffered from severe facial deformities that prevented him from eating properly, communicating and living a normal life for a boy his age.

When he came for a consultation with his grandmother during the last mission of the Chaîne de l’Espoir Luxembourg in Dakar, it was not possible to operate on him there. The association therefore decided to take him to Luxembourg to have him operated by the Chaîne de l’Espoir Luxembourg surgeons at the Centre Hospitalier du Nord in Ettelbrück.
