Ziafati wrote his doctoral thesis on artificial intelligence at the University of Luxembourg and used it as inspiration to create his company, LuxAI. This start-up has built social robots, i.e. robots capable of interacting with humans by processing a large amount of information very quickly to adapt their behaviour to the situation.

The fields of application are very varied. Social robots can assist trainers and therapists in education and health systems. They can also participate in rehabilitation exercises with people who have suffered a stroke or teach vocabulary to children.

LuxAI is already working with the Fondation Autisme Luxembourg and three departments of the University of Luxembourg on applications related to the treatment of autism as well as behavioral therapy, geriatrics and foreign language learning in kindergarten.

Majany financed a robot for the Amicale de l’Institut pour enfants autistes et psychotiques asbl.
